The lovely encounter I had on the bus yesterday with the guy and his guitar spurred on my inspiration juices and I went home and wrote some lyrics on it! It's still a work in progress and I'll probably need a couple more sittings to complete it, as with Black Chucks. It's tentatively called Lovely Encounter and it has a hint of Come On Get Higher's chorus cause that was what I was listening to just before writing the song! I say song instead of lyrics cause there's a tune as well. Not exact chords and riffs but the skeleton tune.
And to add to all things lovely, I had a FANTABULOUS dream this morning--minus the feet part (the feet part was plain sad and freaky)! (: I woke up smiling like a silly fool and even thinking of it now still makes me smile to myself! And my dream made me crave for doug-hnuts even more! Central's mini doug-hnuts are calling to me!
I now have renewed hope and faith in my future Mr Perfect! (:
And Mum suggested a trip to Bali after the prelims! YAY. Although I love my gloomy, rainy weather and my puddles accompanied by my imaginery Doc Martens (hint, you can buy them for me for my birthday!) I do wanna busk in the sun and get a fantabulous chocolatey tan! And I just wanna chill and destress after the prelims. I hope everything works out fine! *fingers crossed*
Lovely encounter I had with you You got me smiling like such a fool You came up to me with your old guitar And started singing just like a star
(I can't remember the rest of the lyrics off hand!)

Heaven ; 12:29 AM
Ed Kowalczyk. MUSICAL GENIUS. His lyrics are so mystical and spiritual and brutally honest.
There was something he wrote in the best of album, about one of their previous albums. He said "LIVE was the only band doing music like this at that time. Some kids were burning down Woodstock to Limp Bizkit and I was meditating and writing songs about dolphins, now that's alternative". And even today, LIVE is probably one of the very few bands who still write these kinda songs!
I think every single one of his lyrics, is so honest and so sad but so powerful. Seriously, I'm not kidding, check LIVE out. They're one of the best yet relatively unknown (in Singapore) bands around!
You don't need no friends Get back your faith again You have the power to believe
Another dissident Take back your evidence It has no power to deceive
I'll believe it when I see it, for myself I don't need no one to tell me about heaven I look at my daughter, and I believe I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth I can see the sunset and I perceive
I sit with them all night Everything they say is right But in the morning they were wrong
I'll be right by your side Come hell or water high Down any road you choose to roam
Darling, I believe, Oh Lord Sometimes it's hard to breathe, Lord At the bottom of the sea

Tonight ; 8:52 PM
One day, my dear, one day. It's all in due time. Good things come to those who wait so we've got to be patient.
I've finished Black Chucks! Added a verse, a chorus and a bridge. It sounds cutesy and it's not what I expected my first song to sound like but it's all good. It's all good. Scrapped the "breathe you in" part despite all my foo fighter-everlong senses telling me not to. But it's still good. It's all good. (:
One day, my friend, one day. It's all in good faith.
I remember the times we spent together On those drives We had a million questions All about our lives And when we got to New York Everything felt right I wish you were here with me Tonight
I remember the days we spent together Were not enough And I used to feel like dreamin' Except we always woke up Never thought not having you here now Would hurt so much
Tonight I've fallen and I can't get up I need your loving hands to come and pick me up And every night I miss you, I can just look up And know the stars are Holding you, holding you, holding you Tonight
I remember the time you told me About when you were eight And all those things you said that night That just couldn't wait
I remember the car you were last seen in And the games we would play All the times we spilled our coffees And stayed out way too late
I remember the time you sat and told me About your Jesus And how not to look back Even if no one believes us When it hurts so bad Sometimes not having you here I sing
Tonight I've fallen and I can't get up I need your loving hands to come and pick me up And every night I miss you, I can just look up And know the stars are Holding you, holding you, holding you Tonight

Kelly Jones! ; 11:22 PM
Move over Doug, I'm having a fling with Kelly Jones. It's decided. AHAHA! I don't care if he's thirty four! He's still younger than Dane Cook! He's welsh (ooooh, sexy accent!) and he looks soooooo cool in his vintage leather jackets! And his voice! When he sings Have A Nice Day, Maybe Tomorrow, Handbags and Gladrags and Don't Let Me Down. (: I'll even steal his aviators for souvenier and maybe one of his Gibsons too! Doug can beat him up after!
(:
BLIND ; 9:14 PM
Everything else on my wishlist can damn well wait, cause this one can't. I want need Lasik. Not for beautification purposes, but for the simplest reason: I can't f-cking see without my glasses. And it has just been made worst when I went to the optometerist (is that how it's spelled? Looks weird) yesterday and got my eyes checked. I am now in the 1000 zone. Bonks. As if the 800s weren't bad enough, my degree went up by 175 each and the nice uncle decided to cut my degree down so it'll remain in the 900s. It's crazy. And I'm going blind.
B L I N D A S A B A T
So yes, now you know what to get me for my 18th birthday. The Gibson can wait. Cuz I won't be able to figure the chords out if I can't see what I'm playing. I'm not musical a genius to be able to be the next Ray Charles on guitar.
And the fact that I'm faced with two straight weeks of mugging won't do anything to improve my vision. I swear, the fact that my eyesight is going down the drain is testimony to the amount of mugging I do. You see, education system, what your mugging system has done to kids like me? DAMMIT. And they said contact lens were supposed to stabilise my degree. BULL.

Mini Doug-hnuts! ; 9:54 PM
I read an interview yesterday in a magazine, with the fight quest guys. And it was SUPER HORNY. Now we all know what horny little bustards those two are. And Sharon, I swear, has this insane ability to make all things worrisome and sad, seem like a blessing in disguise! She's totally whacked up and I have no clue how she does it. You know what I'm talking about.
Anywyas, I went shopping with Mummy after school today and we got a converse! YAY. Finally a new one. And I know I promised myself I'd get a pair of BLACK chucks but I didn't! I got a light grey-green one with bronze eyelets and thick laces! But the sad part is they didn't have it in my size (which is typically the case cuz there's plenty of girls with huge feet and guys with small feet!) so we reserved a pair at bugis! And best thing was I saw my green shoe on display, and I put it next to mine, and you should see how much the colour faded! My green shoe was supposed to look leafy green but now, it looks like TJC-green, just a bit darker. Oh, and I fianlly got a shirt-dress! It's white with black prints on it and it's nice! YAY (: I love shopping with people who pays for me! HEHEHE
SHARON! Mini Doughnuts (Doug-hnuts!) soon yeah? I'm seriously craving them!

High and Dry ; 9:44 PM
Found an even more perfect version of high and dry!
PURE PERFECTION
radiohead rules the radio ; 7:02 PM
WARNING: This entry is very heavy in video content especially that of the GREAT Radiohead, so if you're not interested, shoo shoo away!
First up, their most famous song, Creep. Thom Yorke does a CRAZY scream/sing that was waaaaaaaaaay longer than the normal one in the single. This one is EPIC. Quality of the video however, wasn't too good as like was from '94 and some idiot didn't know how to cut vids appropriately so they start and end nicely. But still, this is the great one. And ya noticed the guitarist already had "emo hair"? And since at that time there was no such thing as "emo", those damn "emo kids" you see today clearly DID NOT invent that hair style!
Here's an updated version. From the V Festival in 'o6. Thom does the scream more like the original one this time. I swear the band ages so well. They guitarist actually looks younger larh! And Thom still looks so well-preserved. And yes, we love you Thom! You'll get it once he finishes his scream!
This next one's called Fake Plastic Trees. I love how it's all about some absurd plastic/rubber girl in her plastic/rubber town. The lyrics don't make sense but at the same time, they make all the sense in the world. That's it's beauty. And I swear, only Thom Yorke can sing his notes soooo long and sound so good. It wears her out.
Acoustic version of Fake Plastic Trees, as if it wasn't perfect enough! Gravity always wins.
This one's called Karma Police. I like the part which goes this is what you get when you mess with love and for a minute, I lost myself. Another great song from Radiohead.
The next one's High and Dry. Rumour has it that the song got soooooo popular that people kept requesting it and Radiohead got sick of it so they don't really play it anymore. I couldn't decide which vid was better so I'm putting up two. The first one's from Glastonbury '97. And the second's from a taping of the Jay Leno Show. I like how the guitarist does that scratchy-haunting thing on the strings. It's not in the original version. Plus I LOVE the acoustic part of the song and that's why this is my favourite Radiohead song of them all! So cherish these vids cause Radiohead may not play High and Dry anytime soon.
RADIOHEAD'S TRULY A GOOD CLASSIC BAND. (:
And if you still want more, here are good covers worth the watch.
Jamie Cullum doing a live version of High and Dry. Jamie, as you may know, did a studio version of the song and made it more jazzy. It was a nice reinterpretation. In this vid though, he doesn't sing the whole song cuz it's mainly his piano solo, which in itself is crazy. It's amazing that he's actually self-taught. Like WOW. And if you listen carefully, you can hear parts of the piano bits in I Get A Kick Out Of You in his solo. (:
The next one's by an Australian dude called Toby Rand. He chose to do Karma Police for his final song in Rockstar Supernova and I gotta say, I loved it! I love his shades too! AHAH. And you know what, I'm kinda seeing a resemblance between him and Doug. Maybe it's just me...And Sharon, Toby is a good example of a guy who's good with music and is tough too! There's HOPE!
In a world where music is becoming I-dunno-what-they -are-singing, it's reassuring to know that I'll always have the good old classic Radiohead anthems! And you noticed all the videos are of live performances? Simply goes to show how good they really are!

Creep ; 9:56 PM
I was totally trying to figure out the lyrics to Creep during MAths tutorial and Lecture today! The stupid (and very ironic) thing was that I was happily singing the song and I knew all the lyrics and then 5 minutes after, I wanted to sing again and I BLANK. I couldn't start the friggin' song and I was like RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. This happens to me lots. Very common so in between trying to listen to Patrick teach sequences and series, trying to make out the PUNY font that was on the screen, squinting so crazily to copy the model solution down, and writing the lyrics to My Girl and Gravity on Zhiling's paper, I was trying to make out the lyrics to Creep and I GOT IT! HAH. Just as lecture was about to end so as we were exiting the LT, I said "Come, Zhiling, let me sing something for you, it's called Creep" then Zhiling was "C-C-C-Creep? Like Radiohead??" And I was sooo impresses she knew the song! ONly to find out that Yoga Lin sang it before and that's how she knew the song. =X. C'MON. NO ONE BEATS RADIOHEAD.
ARGH. And I can't seem to get the chorus of Sixth Avenue Heartache out of my head!
And the same black line that was drawn on you Was drawn on me And now it's drawn me in Sixth avenue heartache, heartache
When you were here before Couldn't look you in the eye You're just like an angel Your skin makes me cry You float like a feather In a beautiful world I wish I was special You're so fucking special (yes, it's fucking for all you idiots who did not know the lyrics were censored)
But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here
I don't care if it hurts I wanna have control I want a perfect body I want a perfect soul I want you to notice When I'm not around You're so fucking special I wish I was special
But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here
She's running out again She running out She runs, runs, runs, RUHHHHHHHNNNNNN She RUHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNN
Whatever makes you happy Whatever you want You're so fucking special I wish I was special

random pictures ; 7:04 PM
I initially wanted to do a nice entry about lyrics but that can wait cause as tempting as it is, it's not ready just yet. Mean while, enjoy some random pics I recently took. (:
The flower is printed on the envelop but the dove and stars were drawn by yours truly! Actually, there were more stars when I was done except I didn't take a picture of it after I finished! LOL But it still looks fab as hell! (:
The scary throbbing vein on my palm. It pops out and it's yuck!
Love the contrast between the newer houses in the foreground and the old one in the background. wish it looked more artsy though. Those real photographers take look sooooooo much better!
I was trying to take a picture to capture the vibrancy on the yellow and the green leaves but the flash came on and it made the background darker and surprisingly, the picture turned out nice! The yellow comes out more now and it looks nice! (:
Same thing except more background and less flower.
Yepp, that's all folks! Cya next time. Same time, same place. Same ol' same ol', but different! (;

I'll Be Okay ; 11:04 AM
This has nothing to do with Mildred's groupie syndrome but I was just bored and I decided to youtube some McFly just for kicks and I came across some rather interesting videos! And no, I'm not kicking into groupie-mode. I've never been crazy over McFly larh. So there's no rekindling of any leftover spark! Just find their vids amusing!
The swiping the credit card till the card burnt was soooooo LAME! LOL. And the way the guys were trying to impress her was so funny! And the hand in the vending machine was CLASSIC! And the little guitar solo was quite good for a "boy band"!
I like the concept of this vid! The turning clockwise/anticlockwise thing. And I loved the part when the bassist was holding on to the edge of the building and he said "I'll be okay"! Funny!
This vid makes me want to be in a band! They get to do such whacky stuff together and have so much fun! The part where all of them seemed butt maked except for their instruments was interesting. LOL
when everything is going wrong and things are just a little strange it's been so long now you've forgotten how to smile and over head the skys are clear but it still seems to rain on you and your only friends all have better things to do
when you're down and lost and you need a helping hand when you're down and lost along the way oh just tell yourself ahh, I'll be okay
now things are only getting worse and you need someone to take the blame when the love has gone there's no one to share the pain been sleepin with the tv on and lying in an empty bed all the alcohol in the world would never help me to forget
when you're down and lost and you need a helping hand when you're down and lost along the way just try a little harder, try your best to make it through the day oh just tell yourself, ahh, I'll be okay

At the movies ; 10:46 PM
I finally finished Johnny Got His Gun today! I learnt how to type SOS in the morse code! I guess it was very much a book about going into the head of someone so badly affected by the destruction of war and it really leaves you bummed about it. It kinda makes you think "hell yeah, what Joe (the main character) says is really true". No one in the right miond should go to war. And what do the people go to war for? To fight for democracy? What kind of democracy? Democracy for me? For you? Everyone's got a different take on democracy. And what is democracy? It's not like a chicken or a fish or a balloon. It's not something you can see. It's an idea. Someone's idea. Not yours. It really probes you to re-evaluate why war is taking place cause in the end, people always die for nothing. Like the famous saying goes "War doesn't determine who is right. It determines who is left."
Anyways, here is a list of movies I want to watch (either for the first time or again) after the As (or maybe before if I have time) :
1. Parent Trap
Even though I've watched it like fifty times before, I NEVER get sick of it. It's actually stupid to watch the movie again when you know what's coming up next, hell, I even know what the characters will say next, word for word, but this movie never fails to bore me. It's one of those classic Disney feel-good-movies! (:
2. Spice World!
HEH. This one's Sharon's request. We were in the car the other night and Too Much was playing on the radio and she casually mentioned that she wanted to watch Spice World again and I said "I"VE GOT THE VCD!" HAHAHA. Yeah. My favourite spice girl was Sporty Spice! She was like the coolest one around. She wasn't too busy trying to get through boot camp in heels (Posh) or too busy licking lollipops (Baby) or too busy trying to be sexy (Ginge) or being scary (Scary, DUH)
3. Keeping the Faith
This one's nice! It stars Edward Norton, Ben Stiller and that woman from Dharma and Greg. And it's a typical love trangle story, only, it involves best friends! I can't really remember the ending, that's why I want to watch it again!
4. Ten Things I Hate About You
This one's to honour Heath Ledger. He was like the most typical arsehole-turned-romantic guy in this movie and the ending, though entirely cliche was soooo sweet! (: I love the part when Julia Stiles recites the poem and she gets so emotional and she actually did her homework (which was writing the poem) and when she finished reading it, the teacher said "You playing with me again? GET OUT! Principal's Office NOW!"
5. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
It looks sooo horny especially with that long hair dude whose shirt is unbuttoned all the way to his chest! But I think I'll laugh all the way through this one!
6. Sleepless In Seattle
Love Story. I have no idea what happens in it but it's like one of those highly-raved about movies that I haven't caught!
7. When Harry Met Sally
Ditto the above. Plus, it teaches you that once a man and a woman go from friends to lovers, they can NEVER go back to being friends again. That's why I don't believe in the whole "Still Friends?" after breakups.
8. Forest Gump
Tom Hanks in his critically-acclaimed movie. Need I say more? To me, Tom Hanks is like the movie star version of Bono. As in they both are so widely recognised and respected and they are like the pioneers in their respective fields. And this was THE Tom Hanks show to watch.
9. Mamma Mia
I caught the making-of of it yesterday. And it looks interesting. I think it stars the bimbo from Mean Girls, the one whose boob can "predict" the weather? THAT ONE. And she actually sings pretty well! And it's full of huge casts dancing, very hollywood's bollywood!
10. Johnny Got His Gun
Both the old and new version. Just because it was such an emotional struggle for Joe and I want to see how they iterpreted it into a movie. The old one should be good cuz the author of the book was involved in the screenplay. The new one starring Benjamin McKenzie is shot in a different concept so I wanna see this new approach too.
But most of all, I want people to make a movie out of The Seven Ancient Wonders! I know it will be utterly disappointing (like the Da Vinci Code), especially for this one cuz it simply has too much details to fit into a 2 hour movie but I do wanna see who they choose to star as Captain Jack West! Zhiling said she had Brendan Frasier in her mind the whole time she read it. I had someone like Matthew McConaughey in mind except a bit leaner. HAH. And little Zoe would be sooo cute. I have a feeling it will be Abigail Breslin! Oh wait, nope, that won't do. Zoe is an African kid. Someone different then, but someone as cute I hope!
Cheers to movies! HAH

In Repair ; 4:38 PM
Too many shadows in my room Too many hours in this midnight Too many corners in my mind So much to do to set my heart right Oh it's taking so long I could be wrong, I could be ready Oh but if I take my heart's advice I should assume it's still unsteady I am in repair, I am in repair
Stood on the corner for a while To wait for the wind to blow down on me Hoping it takes with it my old ways And brings some brand new luck upon me Oh it's taking so long I could be wrong, I could be ready Oh but if I take my heart's advice I should assume it's still unsteady I am in repair, I am in repair
And now I'm walking in a park All of the birds they dance below me Maybe when things turn green again It will be good to say you know me Oh it's taking so long I could be wrong, I could be ready Oh but if I take my heart's advice I should assume it's still unsteady Oh I'm never really ready, I'm never really ready I'm in repair, I'm not together but I'm getting there I'm in repair, I'm not together but I'm getting there

Little Sparrow ; 10:34 PM
I was sooo disappointed say, 5 hours ago because I went to the canvas shoe website and they didn't have the cookie monster//elmo shoe design I wanted so I sourced around and I was between these rainbow pair of shoes, one black swirly whirlies (which is soooo me) and then it hit me! I WANT A PAIR OF SHOES WITH SPARROWS//DOVES. After seeing what Dani drew on her shoes (or her shoes-in-progress) I wanted something similar. And the images of doves// sparrows on the net wasn't nice so I search for doves// sparrows TATTOOS. And I hit JACKPOT. I got soooo many nice pictures and I went to Michelle Myles' tattoo shop's website and I found pictures of her tattoo designs. PRETTY AWESOME.
The first two are Michelle Myles' work. I'm quoting her name just in case they accuse me of stealing her intellectual property without citing sources. So go to erm, Funcity's website (I think that's what it's called), to check them out if you're interested. Just type in "Michelle Myles" into a search engine and you'll find it. I LOVE how intense the colours in the first tatt look and the right wing of the sparrow (I think) reminds me of a pheonix. The second tatt is just sweet and I like the fact that in it's mouth is a branch (so I pressume this one's involving doves). Doves and sparrows looks pretty similar to the untrained eye.
Now, this is what I want my shoe to look like. So instead of the tattoo on my feet, it'll be on the shoes larh. It's gonna be one sparrow on each side, facing each other, but I want each of them to hold a branch of leaves (not too big) in their mouths. Then like the stars you see in Michell's first tattoo, I want little colourful stars all around the side of the shoes in varying sizes. And on the back, I want a big yellow//orange star that looks like the one you put on top of your Christmas tree.
So this is something like what I want my sparrows to hold in their mouths. This bird's a dove by the way. I do love the blue shadings on it's wings (:
And I want my sparrow to be in a vibrant colour so something like these two colour schemes, or like the one in Michelle's first tatt will do great!
OH YAY. I'M SO HAPPY CAUSE I FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHAT I WANT! (: Now, it's how to convey what I want to my producer of the shoes!
Dolly Parton isn't as bad as you imagine. I love this song of her's. But before you go searching for her version, try David Cook's version first.
Little sparrow, little sparrow Precious fragile little thing Little sparrow, little sparrow Flies so high and feels no pain
All ye maidens hede my warning Never trust the hearts of men They will crush you like a sparrow Leaving you to never mend
They will vow to always love you Swear no love but yours will do Then they'll leave you for another Break your little heart in two
Little sparrow, little sparrow Precious fragile little thing Little sparrow, little sparrow Flies so high and feels no pain
If I were a little sparrow O'er these mountains I would fly I would find him, I would find him Look into his lying eyes
I would flutter all around him On my little sparrow wings I would ask him, I would ask him Why he let me love in vain
I am not a little sparrow I am just the broken dream Of a cold false-hearted lover And his evil cunning scheme
All ye maidens fair and tender Never trust the hearts of men They will crush you like a sparrow Leaving you to never mend
Little sparrow, little sparrow Oh the sorrow never ends

STUDYSTUDYSTUDY ; 10:28 AM
Came online to print out even MORE chemistry questions to do. RAHHH. I think I've been doing too much chemistry. I need to work on my Physics! My tutor went on a business trip/ holiday and he's gonna be gone for ONE WHOLE MONTH. He'll be back just in time for the prelims and HAH. God save me, man. My physics is one very-sinkable ship. GAWD. I need to study and stop getting answers for the weekly physics quiz before the quiz starts! Yes, we've been getting answers even before the quiz cuz we have a good informer! I need to re-evaluate my standard. GAHHHH
Anyways, meeting Mildred darling for lunch (??) then we're going to cozycot to SHOPSHOPSHOP, then dark knight-ing (I hope there's tix cuz the other night at vivo was a disappointment) and then dinner at her fishernet place, or whatever it's called. She claims it's better than fish and co. so I'll be the judge tonight!
I NEED TO STUDY HARDER. PRELIMS ARE IN 31 DAYS. GAHHH BAHHH RAHHH. Give me the strength to hold on and the ability to withstand the pain. And the stamina and determination to study hard!
