WARNING: This entry is very heavy in video content especially that of the GREAT Radiohead, so if you're not interested, shoo shoo away!
First up, their most famous song, Creep. Thom Yorke does a CRAZY scream/sing that was waaaaaaaaaay longer than the normal one in the single. This one is EPIC. Quality of the video however, wasn't too good as like was from '94 and some idiot didn't know how to cut vids appropriately so they start and end nicely. But still, this is the great one. And ya noticed the guitarist already had "emo hair"? And since at that time there was no such thing as "emo", those damn "emo kids" you see today clearly DID NOT invent that hair style!
Here's an updated version. From the V Festival in 'o6. Thom does the scream more like the original one this time. I swear the band ages so well. They guitarist actually looks younger larh! And Thom still looks so well-preserved. And yes, we love you Thom! You'll get it once he finishes his scream!
This next one's called Fake Plastic Trees. I love how it's all about some absurd plastic/rubber girl in her plastic/rubber town. The lyrics don't make sense but at the same time, they make all the sense in the world. That's it's beauty. And I swear, only Thom Yorke can sing his notes soooo long and sound so good. It wears her out.
Acoustic version of Fake Plastic Trees, as if it wasn't perfect enough! Gravity always wins.
This one's called Karma Police. I like the part which goes this is what you get when you mess with love and for a minute, I lost myself. Another great song from Radiohead.
The next one's High and Dry. Rumour has it that the song got soooooo popular that people kept requesting it and Radiohead got sick of it so they don't really play it anymore. I couldn't decide which vid was better so I'm putting up two. The first one's from Glastonbury '97. And the second's from a taping of the Jay Leno Show. I like how the guitarist does that scratchy-haunting thing on the strings. It's not in the original version. Plus I LOVE the acoustic part of the song and that's why this is my favourite Radiohead song of them all! So cherish these vids cause Radiohead may not play High and Dry anytime soon.
RADIOHEAD'S TRULY A GOOD CLASSIC BAND. (:
And if you still want more, here are good covers worth the watch.
Jamie Cullum doing a live version of High and Dry. Jamie, as you may know, did a studio version of the song and made it more jazzy. It was a nice reinterpretation. In this vid though, he doesn't sing the whole song cuz it's mainly his piano solo, which in itself is crazy. It's amazing that he's actually self-taught. Like WOW. And if you listen carefully, you can hear parts of the piano bits in I Get A Kick Out Of You in his solo. (:
The next one's by an Australian dude called Toby Rand. He chose to do Karma Police for his final song in Rockstar Supernova and I gotta say, I loved it! I love his shades too! AHAH. And you know what, I'm kinda seeing a resemblance between him and Doug. Maybe it's just me...And Sharon, Toby is a good example of a guy who's good with music and is tough too! There's HOPE!
In a world where music is becoming I-dunno-what-they -are-singing, it's reassuring to know that I'll always have the good old classic Radiohead anthems! And you noticed all the videos are of live performances? Simply goes to show how good they really are!
