These Streets ; 7:10 PM

PAOLO NUTINI
He is this uber talented singer/songwriter and his voice is just whiny enough to love but not enough to hate.
He wrote some really good songs you may have heard before, like New Shoes, These Streets and Last Request. I especially love the last song. Apparently he wrote it based on a relationship he had in high school. I couldn't make out the other things he said because his accent is really hard to comprehend (he's Scot by the way, which makes me want to visit my aunt living there so maybe I'll see him!)but judging from the lyrics, it didn't go too well. Oh, but the chorus, it's just a perfect little song on how you feel just before breaking up with someone you really love.
The the story behind the lyrics for These Streets is also very meaningful, because it reminds you of how fast-pace this world we live in is and sometimes we got to be careful not to get stucked in.
Yes, thank god there still are talented musicians in this world who actually still sing. With all the crappy new music coming out, and with all the good singers who can sing but are still going into this new stream (like Mariah Carey, Britney and Madonna), please turn back before it's too late! It's time to celebrate GOOD music!(:
Into the big bad world Where it takes you 'bout an hour Just to cross the road Just to stumble across another poor old soul from The dreary old lanes to the high-street madness I fight with my brain to believe my eyes And it's harder than you think To believe this sadness That creeps up my spine And haunts me through the night
And life is good and the girls are gorgeuos Suddenly the air smells much greener now And I'm wondering 'round With a half pack of cigarettes Searching for the change that I've lost somehow
These streets have too many names for me I'm used to Glenfield road and spending my time down in Orchy I'll get used to this eventually I know, I know
Where'd the days go? When all we did was play And the stress that we were under wasn't stress at all Just a run and a jump into a harmless fall from Walking by a high-rise to a landmark square You see millions of people with millions of cares And I struggle to the train to make my way home I look at the people as they sit there alone
Life is good, and the sun is shining Everybody flirts to their ideal place And the children all smile as a boat shuffled by them Trying to pretend that they've got some space
These streets have too many names for me I'm used to Glenfield road and spending my time down in OrchyI'll get used to this eventually I know, I know

Bleah ; 10:16 PM
I talked to Fattie last night till like 1 plus. And then he went to bathe and we talked till like almost 3am while he watched Mamma Mia and I tried to study Econs. Fattie bought his Timbuk2 and it's army green. I told him that when he wakes up today, he'll find all his belongings on the floor but the bag missing.
Dad checked out Fattie's facebook account today and I found out he's worth like $2731. LOUSY. Doug's worth like $72000 the last time I checked. (: One day I'll buy him! (:
Dad left for Malaysia today so I have to go to school myself tomoroow! I know I sound so spoilt but I assure you I'm not. I'm only complaining because it's crazy that I take one plus hour to get to school if I take public transport but the car ride takes ten minutes. =S
Well, back to studying Econs. I promised Xiao Tian Tian I'll be going to Mocks. Bleah

Collide ; 6:05 PM
Ham and cheese pizza at The House of Bread was cheap and good. Seriously made me crave for more. And the chocolate muffin and chicken mushroom bun looked mouth watering! I may go grab them for lunch tomorrow if it does rain.
Went to Parkway with Mildred to get my teeth done and we dropped by Gramaphone and Millie found the House dvd for rent so she got it. Happy Watching! Oh, and we both agreed that the guy at Gramaphone, Kenneth (my eye was quick!), was quite cute! Unfortunately, we also both agreed he wasn't that much our kind. At least we had some eye candy today! (:
The dawn is breakingA light shining throughYou're barely wakingAnd I'm tangled up in youI'm open, you're closedWhere I follow, you'll goI worry I won't see your faceLight up againEven the best fall down sometimesEven the wrong words seem to rhymeOut of the doubt that fills my mindI somehow findYou and I collideI'm quiet you knowYou make a first impressionI've found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mindEven the best fall down sometimesEven the stars refuse to shineOut of the back you fall in timeI somehow findYou and I collideDon't stop hereI lost my placeI'm close behindEven the best fall down sometimesEven the wrong words seem to ryhmeOut of the doubt that fills your mindYou finally findYou and I collide

Champagne Supernova ; 7:19 PM
OMG.
Please stop being so nice to me.
Stop asking me to drink more water.
Quit asking me why I wanna be so tall.
And please, don't give me a reason to stop avoiding you.
Dammit, I shouldn't have gone to school on friday.
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In the champagne supernova in the sky

Rule of Four ; 9:55 PM
I HAVE FINISHED THE RULE OF FOUR!!!!
I think it is such an ingenious book. You get to learn about Francesco Colonna and Girolamo Savonarola, who they were and what they did in their lives, as wells as historical events like the Bonfire of the Vanities.
This book is kind of like the Da Vinci Cokde only it's more complex. It's like, they crack the crypt only to solve another crypt, one after another. So if you like Dan Brown and you have much more patience, read this book!
I guess I've been alternating between light reads and info-heavy reads. Like one chick-lit book, then I read Johnny Got His Gun. One chick-lit book and I killed myself reading The Great Gatsby. So now, I guess I'm gonna read Time Traveller's Wife cuz the movie is coming out soon! And I wanna finish the book before the movie gets released! Then it's The Six Sacred Stones after time Traveller's Wife. After that, I guess I'll get My Story by Dave Pelzer. I've been eyeing it for a while now.
Yes, so that's my line up of books for now. I've read like 17 books this year. I think it's a new record! I'm so proud of myself. My damn GP grades better improve!
