I've only been through 2 days of school and I don't want to continue anymore. It's bene so tiring, having to travel all the way to school and back, waking up at 5.45am and sleeping at 2am everyday. At least I had the luxury of a late Tuesday last semester. This semester, it's 4 days of 8.30am lessons and most of my days end at 4.30pm. Thankfully my Career Foundations and Marketing tutorial start on week 3 so I had today off! Took the opportunity to catch up on sleep and I just realised the amount of sleep I had last night was more than the amount of sleep I clocked in over the previous 2 nights! That's the Accountancy programme for you! They're really training us to be auditors and getting by with as little sleep as we can. Sleep is indeed a luxury, not a necessity. Wise words from (Amelia's) Uncle! HAHA!



CNY's around the corner! My house is totally undecorated and there's totally no CNY goodies yet, unless you count the chocolate chip cookies I baked last week! I've been spending a lot recently and I need to cut back. Or perhaps my CNY angpaos can help tide me over? HAHA! I hope I'll be able to win some money at blackjack this year! Gonna watch the CNY show on channel 8, find out my lucky colour and wear it!



I took out most of my unworn clothes and sent them for ironing today so I can wear them for CNY visiting / to school soon! My grandma saw the clothes and asked me how much they cost. She was stunned that all my clothes cost less than $30 a piece! HAHA! The thrills of online shopping! Aiya, but I went to Bugis yesterday and found out that clothes are even cheaper there so I'm going to start frequenting that place soon! I saw my top (that I bought for $28 online) selling for only $20 there!!!! What an abomination!



Man, I hope I win the $5 million toto draw tomorrow! Then I'll not bother studying and just scrap through school. My mum says I can't quit school but after that I can do whatever I want if I win! HAHA! My dad says if he wins $5 million, he's gonna wave the cheque in front of his boss and ask his boss to bank it in for him on the way to the banking hall! HAHAHAHAHA, my dad is super lame!



First week of school, still slacker than usual so I also managed to catch Harry Potter just now! Finally I can say I watched it! Man I feel so slow! I also watched GG last night! Wheeeeee!



Okay, have to decide wht colour nails to paint tmr after school! I'm going to see Jon on Saturday and I wanna be super rad! HAHA! Perhaps I should slap on some Chanel. It is Jon afterall! HAHAHAH! Invite S to come along too! Oh and talking about polish, I hope my polishes come soon! wanna collect them and try them out! So sad that Estella couldn't help me get Nantucket Mist and Baguette Me Not. I'm getting desperate and I'm thinking about going to the OPI shop at MBS to purchase Nantucket Mist! Haven't seen it anywhere else! Baguette Me Not I can still live without. Estella also couldn't get 3 other polish for me cuz they were OOS so I asked her to try again in her new spree! I don't think that counts as me buying new polishes so my one month ban is still intact. Hopefully I can stretch it to two months eventually! I would really like to hit my new financial goal (hit my previous one already!) by the end of this year! So sad I can no longer get Edusave Scholarship cheques from Raymond Lim anymore! :(

Last day of freedon for me because my lessons start on Tuesday. For those of you who have to go to school today, I emphatise. I logged into edventure to look at the course materials I need to print and I got a minor panic attack. It suddenly dawned upon me how stressful this semester will be! I'll be taking 20 AUs, which I've never done before (max was 19 AUs in year 1 sem 2). I hope I can cope, especially with guitar lessons every Saturday and having to practice every day! Plus I only have one free day this semester, compared to the two I had last semester so I've got some adjusting to do!

My plans for my last day of freedom? Go get my pants altered before I need them for mass presentations and then go roam around Eastpoint / Tampines Mall by myself. I forsee myself getting nail polishes because of how stress I'll be tomorrow. Maybe I'll get that taupe from Rimmel! And hopefully I won't cave much at Etude House, Skin Food, Elianto, The Face Shop and Natures Republic (when I get to JP on tuesday and everyday afterwards). Definitely got to get new earphones though. My current Sennheiser pair is super screwed and the music only comes out on one side (if I'm lucky)! Music is so important while travelling for almost 4 hours everyday so earphones are a MUST for me! Plus I need to get more of the cushion sponge cover for my earphones cuz they're always slipping out of my ears!

You probably can tell I've been practicing my guitar! Just finished a 2 hours practice sessions. Dani and I had lessons today with 2 other girls who were 2 lessons ahead of us so we felt very noob. Plus Simon spent super little time teaching us new things today so it was kinda a waste of time. Although, the chord changing tip seems to be working. I can change from C to G faster now! And I can play Time of Your Life at a faster speen than before!!! Woooohooo! Apparently we're gonna learn Lips of an Angel during lesson 3! Haha! Dani and I were lip synching it today while the 2 girls played! Soooooo funny! We were just tasked to strum our DDUUDU pattern so not much to do anyways!

My polish has started chipping and I'm a bit lazy to repaint them but I don't wanna start school with chipped polish on my nails! I'm gonna let them chip a bit more first I think. Haven't really lived with chipped polish so I'll see how that goes! I hope my 2 bottles will arrive in the mail on Monday! :D

My fingers are butchered - even the skin around the tips are peeling. Even typing hurts. :( How can 2 hours of practising do so much damage? I wonder how the Guitar people practice for SYF. Oh, and I don't know if it's normal but I have to cut my nails every 3-4 days now, if now they'll hit the fret board and make forming chords difficult. Is it normal for nails to grow this fast?

Just came back from a sunset shoot at Changi. Went to a different spot today, the kelong, and guess who I saw? The guy who brought us to our seats when Amelia, Annabella and I went to Kiseki. I think he found me familiar too but we never spoke! Haha! I was like "ehhh, why that botak guy look so familiar!!!"

My polishes are on their way! At least 2 of them are! Hope I'll get them by Monday, before school starts on Tuesday! OPI Hey! Get in Lime and Kreme de la Kremlin. I have no idea how the girl managed to get them but I do hope they're genuine OPI. Secully Hey! Get in Lime turns out yellow, or lime green when it's supposed to be mint green! Fingers crossed!

Just created an onsugar account! Probably going to update my nail stuff there and not the blogger anymore. Seems more fun to be on onsugar because of all the fellow beauty junkies there!

I guess I should hint about my results now? That's probably why you're reading this right, to see if I'll slip any info out. Hmmm, how shall we do this discreetly? Let's start by saying I'm disappointed with some and satisfied with some. The mods that I thought I'd die, I ended up doing okay and those I wanted to do well in, I didn't, or at least not up to my expectations. Overall, I should be happy with my results, considering how some people told me that I wasn't as hardworking this semester as I was for previous semesters. I ought to be happy but I'm not. I guess I'll never truly be satisfied.

I'm watching Harper's Island now even though I already know who the mastermind is. Didn't feel "complete" if I gave up the series halfway. And I discovered Prickly Heat! Gonna spam it later before I sleep!

Just deleted all my posts from the-crimson-petal and I've decided to use it as my nail blog from now on! Swatches will now be posted there so this blog will be mainly for my ranting! I will still post nails pics here every now and then but the-crimson-petal will probably have more detailed posts!

Went for my first guitar lesson and I signed up for more. I really really want to not give up on this endeavour. I've gotten a lot of flak for giving up on a lot of things in life (eg. swimming and piano lessons) but this is something I've wanted to do for so so long and I really want to do it right and go all the way.

I've been watching a John Mayer video called This Will All Make Perfect Sense Someday and to hear him play, man, that's what I want to be able to do. Do I even need to add how amazing his lyrics are too?

Guess I've got a long way to go and I hope one day, when I've mastered the guitar, I'll be able to look back and be glad that I didn't give it up halfway.

I'm bored and I have no idea what to do, hence, *drum roll please*, I'm going to tell you 10 random facts about yours truly and I'm going to try to make it as random as possible so you'll probably (hopefully) not know as many of these facts about me as you think you will! Here we go!

1) I just visited the doctor this morning. I have some very bad rashes that refuse to go away. They have spread from my arms to my knees and legs and now, my hips. The itch is killing me.

2) If I smell too much of something, I'll feel like vomiting. Especially if it's super musky.

3) So far, I've only had one guy sing a song to me (and it was because he was pressured to and mocked if he didn't). He chose to sing A1's Like a Rose and I wonder why he chose that song. Perhaps I shouldn't but I have always wondered why he didn't choose Iris or Yellow. (Maybe cuz he didn't know my favourite songs?)

4) I'm extremely hard on myself. I think the only person stressing me is myself. My parents have long stopped stressing me about school. I sometimes set myself goals so hard to achieve that in the process, I set myself up for disappointment.

5) I like braised duck rice. A lot. Especially if they have that brown yam rice!

6) I can't speak my dialect. I'm Cantonese but I speak (a little) Teochew and not Cantonese mainly because I wasn't exposed to that much Cantonese growing up.

7) My favourite wallet is one that I got from Pull and Bear. It has got a cassette player printed on it and I love it so so much. I used it for more than a year without changing it (which is the longest I've used a wallet) and it's still usable. The only reason why I'm not using it now is because it got scratched and I couldn't bear to see it get even more damaged.

8) Black used to be my favourite colour but honestly, I don't know what's my favourite colour anymore. I do however know, it's definitely not pink.

9) I like to name my things. Whatever that isn't too weird to name that is. For example, my old guitar was called Woody, my old mp3 was called Storm, my current one is called Frostbite, and all my favourite stuff toys all have names. My new guitar is currently having an identity crisis right now because I'm still torn between naming it Johnnie or Sarah. I feel like giving it split personalities.

10) Wow, that was fast, last fact! What should it be...okay, really random: I have pudgy fingers and I can't shop for rings at F21. I hate it there because they always have nice rings and I can't wear them.

Fine, I admit it. I've screwed up my bio-clock.

Anyway, I was just reading a blogger who just purchased some Deborah Lippmann polishes for around $25 per bottle and when I read that, I gasp at how expensive they were. And then, I gasped even louder after reading what she wrote.

"All in all, I paid around S$25 per bottle with shipping, that puts these nail polish around the same price point at the Illamasqua and RBL ones, but still cheaper than the Chanel ones."

Holy crap. I have 4 Chanel polishes. And it just dawned upon me how bloody expensive they are. (Fine, this isn't the first time but it's been a while) Just on Monday, I was at Sephora and Pop Beauty polishes were going at 2 for $30 and I had to tell myself no. I almost caved and yet I don't even think twice about my Chanel fixes. (Right, I still have yet to see Black Pearl) WHYYYY AM I SPENDING MONEY LIKE THAT?! Plus I still have not submitted my orders to Estella. It's for 12 bottles so you can roughly gauge how much it'll cost! =/

Oh, and one day, I'm going to buy Deborah Lippmann's Waking Up In Vegas. I think if I die in a fire fuelled by my (very flammable) polish, I'd like to be known as the crazy polish girl.

I'm going to bed now to sleep away my disappointment in my lack of self-control. Have to wake up early to see the doctor for my rashes. I ran out of cream and I need more. Then it's guitar lessons and chalet + sunrise shoot with PVS! Haven't hung out with the PVS folks (besides the main comm) for a while now! Oh, and yay, I got my 4 day week! (:

Velvet Revolver's Fall to Pieces was stuck in my head when I got home today so I went to youtube that stripped and raw version I watched the other day and that led to a whole other array of videos! Watched some other Velvet Revolver stripped and raw videos, Guns N Roses Videos (November Rain and Patience), and this guy who does acoustic covers. He did a whole bunch of Axl Rose impersonations and even wore a wig. Amazingly, he does sound like Axl so I watched his other covers and boy, he's good. Love his take on Soul Asylum's Runaway Train! That then sparked my interest in learning Runaway Train's chord which were pretty much manageable. Also googled With or Without You (U2)'s chords and I seriously for the life of me cannot play the Bm chord. Wanted to then learn Wonderwall but I need a capo for that so maybe after Thursday when I go back to the store for my lessons and I can get a capo! Hope it's cheap! The Beatles' Let It Be Also seems doable so I'm gonna trim my nails (it's only been less than a week and they're already too long to play with) and practice after my starswars!

Haven't been blogging much these days, have I? 7 days have gone by since 2011 started and what have I been up to? Nothing much really. As you may already know, I spent Sunday and Monday baking massive amounts of cookies. They're all almost gone by now in case you were wondering! Started playing bridge again on Tuesday and I've been playing ever since. In fact, Amelia spent the night last night and we had a bridge marathon! We are now top 10 players in January! HAHA! She even has a screenshot to prove it!

I also ordered more polish! How could I have not? 2 from some random blog shop (discontinued colours eh! I have no idea how she's going to get them), 4 from a transdesign spree and I'll be submitting my orders to Estella for another 12 bottles! GASP! 18 bottles! OMG, so many but 4 are pre-orders and I'll only be getting them when the suppliers gets them and ship them to Singapore! Oh, and I did a polish count, right now I have 99 bottles so at least the 100th bottle won't be a cheapskate one and thank god it wasn't the Rubi ones which have weird particles in them and smell yucky! And since we're on the subject of polish, I just removed the polish on my thumb nail which lasted 2 weeks before chipping (only because of the strumming) so I now have one lone survivor from my Christmas manicure)!

And, I must introduce you to my new friend Johnnie! I'll take a picture of him and post it up soon! I wonder why I haven't done so! I've been hanging out with him everyday since we met! (Haha, this sounds so misleading, the kinda rubbish that would make my mum get eggcited about nothing!) Johnnie's my new acoustic! I went guitar shopping with Dani on Wednesday and ended up buying him! He even came with a free chord book, tuning pipe, pick, bag and one free lesson! Bought it form Davis Guitar at Peninsula Plaza and the uncle there was so cool when he started playing the guitar! I've been practicing and I now know how to play Horse With No Name! Sounds so impressive but it's only 2 chords! I also learnt the chords to play Greenday's Time of Your Life but I can't change between chords fast enough so I still have much more practicing to do! I must practice more so I won't seem so noobass when I go for my lesson next week! And sadly, I now need to have short short nails to be able to play the guitar and if I paint my nails, they'll chip because of all the fidgeting of my fingers so maybe less nails updates until school starts! I'll definitely so swatches when my new polished arrive though! And Parlez Vous pictures will be up soon!

Yup, nothing much else to update you on! Still thinking if I should sleep now or later because my dad's flying of at seven and I don't know if I want to accompany him to the airport! If so then I won't sleep!

PS: Jon's on the back page of Urban! Haha! I kept the article and I'm planning to add it to the tin box! And when I read the last line, which said his girlfriend is someone from the Fashion industry, I was kinda sad because I almost wish his girlfriend would have been Rebbecca Tan! Ever since the rumour surfaced long long ago that they were spotted together, I always thought they'd look so cute together! Oh wells.

Fracking sad, my OPI Parlez Vous OPI? nails have chipped after 2 days of wear! This sucks. I think it's time to invest in Seche and hope it works miracle because my Poshe has stopped working for me! If I take the time to do my nails nicely, I'd like it to last for 3 days minimum. It's not even a lot of ask for! The polish on my mum's toes lasts for WEEKS and mine can barely hold for one week! :(

In other news, I baked chocolate chip cookies today and they taste awesome! I have to thank S and her mum for their secret recipe. I swear, the recipe is never going out. Ever. Especially not to certain people. I used the cookie sheet I got from Robinsons and it's AMAZING. You just grease the tin, place the sheet on top and put the cookies on top of the cookie sheet. I swear, the cookies never stick and it's sooooo easy getting the cookies off after they've finish baking. They don't even stick at all. And I finally perfected the timing with my convection microwave oven! The cookies normally turn out too hard or too soft but today's batch was gooooood! Perfect! I'm now thinking of whether to collect orders for Chinese New Year! (:

Maybe I do have something to fall back on if my studies / career fail me next time afterall! And boy, my mum will be so happy to be able to bake full time as well! But let's hope that day never comes!
